Clinical efficacy of fascia release manipulation of the Jiugui Ba Madao manner in Yijin Jing on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of the seventh manner of Jiugui Ba Madao manner(九鬼拔马刀势)fascia release manipulation in Yijin Jing(《易筋经》)on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods:Sixty patients who received treatment in the Orthopedics and Massage Department of First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2023 to March 2024 and met the diagnostic criteria for CSR were selected and divided into the experimental group and the control group by the random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.The control group was treated by routine tendon restoration manipulation,while the experimental group was treated by Jiugui Ba Madao manner fascia release manipulation in Yijin Jing additionally.The pressure pain threshold(PPT)values of three easily sensitized acupoints in the neck,shoulder,and back regions of patients in two groups before treatment,after 1 week of treatment,after 2 weeks of treatment,and after 4 weeks of treatment were evaluated,and the visual analogue scale(VAS)score and neck disability index(NDI)score of patients in the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Results:The PPT values of the three easily sensitized acupoints in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group at 1 week after treatment and 2 weeks after treatment(P＜0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,there was no significant difference between the groups in the PPT values of the right neck acupoints(P＞0.05),and the PPT values of the shoulder and back acupoints in the experimental group were still higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,both groups had lower VAS score and NDI score compared with before treatment,and the experimental group had significantly lower scores compared with the control group,with statistical significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The treatment in the two groups can alleviate the symptoms and signs of CSR patients,and the experimental group has a faster onset and more significant pain relief,indicating that common tendon restoration manipulation plus Jiugui Ba Madao manner fascia release manipulation can more quickly alleviate the pain and promote the recovery of cervical spine function.
