Responses of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Stoichiometry to Different Warming Conditions of Lagotis brachystachya on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Global climate change is expected to have a significant impact on ecosystems worldwide, especially for alpine meadow ecosystems which are considered as one of the most vulnerable compo-nents.However,The temperature increase varies greatly in different seasons, the effects of seasonal warming on the plant nitrogen-phosphorus stoichiometry and resorption in alpine meadow ecosystems remain unclear. To investigate the effects of warming on the nitrogen and phosphorus stoichiometry in alpine meadow ecosystems on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,we conducted a three-year artificial warming study using open-top chambers(OTCs)for warming. We studied the variations in nitrogen and phosphorus stoichiometry of Lagotis brachystachya leaf under four warming conditions:year-round warming, winter warming,summer-autumn-winter warming, and spring-summer-autumn war-ming.The results showed that warming during the growing season had a promoting effect on nitrogen absorption, while winter warming had different impacts on nitrogen resorption. However, different warming conditions had little effect on phosphorus stoichiometry.Nonetheless, the warming-induced increase in nitrogen absorption may be smaller than the increase in nitrogen demand by plants.
