On the Practice of the Chinese Path to Modernization in Xizang
Xizang's modernization construction is a typical example of Chinese path to modernization based on China's national conditions and the reality of Xizang.In modern Xizang,there were several attempts by dedicated people to follow the example of the bourgeoisie to embark on a Western-style modernization through the reform and improvement,the result of which however turned out to be failure.After the peaceful liberation of Xizang,the Chinese Communists,represented mainly by Mao Zedong,combined the basic principles of Marxism with the concrete realities of Xizang,led the people to carry out democratic reforms,implemented regional ethnic autonomy and completed socialist transformation.Through unremitting exploration and innovation,it opened up the Chinese path to modernization in Xizang.After the reform and opening up,to change the state of impoverishment and underdevelopment in Xizang,the Central Government regularly convened symposiums on work in Xizang,proposing"accelerating the development of Xizang"and promoting"leap-forward development"in Xizang,and explored a national level mechanism for partner support for Xizang,so as to facilitate its marching forward towards China's modernization.Since the holding of the 18th CPC National Congress,based on the new journey to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and a strong modern socialist country,General Secretary Xi Jinping,has summarized and proposed the important strategic thought of"to govern the country requires governing the border area first,to govern the border area requires to govern Xizang first"and the Party's strategy for governing Xizang in the new era.This has thus realized moderately prosperous society in all respects built by Xizang and the continuous,steady and rapid progress in Xizang's modernization.This paper seeks to summarize the practical connotations and experiences of the Chinese path to modernization in Xizang through reviewing the generation of Chinese modernization in Xizang,so as to provide reference for the modernization construction of Xizang in the new era.
