Development of County-Based Home Care Services:Demand and Supply
In the context of differentiation in regional population growth and deepening aging, how to promote the high-quality development of county level home care services is the focus of current work for people's livelihood.Based on the 2023"Survey on the Aging Population in Hubei"database, this article analyzes how the aging of the population and the allocation of elderly health care resources affect the development of home-based care services. The study found that there is a large gap in the development of home-based care services in different counties. The types of services enjoyed by the elderly living in high-level development counties are 1.83 times that of the elderly living in low-level counties. The increase in the proportion of the elderly population has a significant inhibitory effect on the development of services. The increase in the proportion of elderly people living alone and with low incomes will significantly promote service development. The increase in per capital GDP,medical and health resources, and civil transfer payment funds and other elderly care resources will significantly promote service development.Further research found that in areas that have entered the moderate aging stage, with less financial pressure, and low ratio in children support demand, local governments will pay more attention and devote more resources to the development of home care services for the elderly. The conclusion of this article can provide important implications for promoting the high-quality development of home-based elderly care services in counties under the new demographic situation.
