The Generation of Unity:Reciprocity and Community Construction of Immigrant Villages in Ethnic Areas
As an ecological immigrant village formed by remote relocation,Yuancun village in the old local relationship is separated by the specific resettlement mode.Under the background of villagers being deeply involved in the market economy system and the existence of internal ethnic divisions,Yuancun Village rapidly forms village reciprocity habits and presents itself as the embedded ethnic village community.The ethnographic study of Yuancun Village shows that the land circulation and relocation of"the state being present"activated the historical memory of Yuancun Village people about the period of agricultural cooperation,and shaped the villagers'collective cognition of the land and the current life.In a labor market shaped by local labor protection policies and organized grape planting labor,the market division of labor of foreman/villagers,the recruitment method of foreman subcontracting and the labor process of group cooperation construct the interactive relationship in between villagers.The village collective concept and interactive relationship constitute the social basis of the Yuancun Village reciprocity,and these two support and function with each other,and jointly"produce"the village reciprocity and the village unity on the basis of reciprocity.The production process of Yuancun Village unity presents the hidden living mechanism of shaping the ethnic mutual embedded village community.This mechanism is dominated by the will of the state,but through the concrete life process in the daily life world,it shapes the action self-consciousness of national exchange,communication and integration in an unnoticeable subtle way.The discovery,disclosure and summary of this hidden life mechanism are of great significance for inspiring fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation in a visible,tangible,and effective way.
