Chinese Agricultural Reform and Farmers in the Works of Beauvoir
Beauvoir created an encyclopedia style work,LA LONGUE MARCHE:Essai sur la China Simone de Beauvoir,during her visit to New China.In the chapter on"Farmers"in the book,she wrote about the agricultural reforms of various dynasties in China through extensive research and personal investigation,using a narrative and argumentative writing method.Through comparative analy-sis,she made Western readers realize that the cooperation of New China is the right path to bring happiness to farmers,which helps to eliminate their misunderstandings about New China.Today,as the country promotes rural revitalization and common prosperity,it still has certain practical significance for us to re-examine Beauvoir's introduction and evaluation of China's agricultural reform and farm-ers.
