Sustainable agricultural development is a hot topic of concern for countries around the world today,and achieving sustainable utilization of agricultural resources is the key to solving this problem.Biochar has the characteristics of large specific surface area,high porosity,and strong adsorption capacity.It can improve soil,enhance the productivity of farmland and crops,and is of great significance in alleviating the increasingly acute supply-demand contradiction of agricultural resources.This article provides a review of the research and application of biochar in agricultural production in recent years,with a focus on the research progress of biochar in soil improvement and crop growth.The aim is to further clarify the functions and potential application value of biochar,and provide reference for achieving sustainable agriculture.
