In order to effectively govern the Miao region,the Ming court relied on Tusi to manage the area.From the actual performance,its positive role as a pacifier,defender,assistant to suppression,and educator not only maintained national unity and regional stability,but also ensured effective national governance of the southwestern ethnic areas,thus promoting the historical process of the integration of southwestern ethnic minorities into the Chinese national community.
