The degree of empty nest in rural areas of Guizhou is higher than that in urban areas,facing more prominent health and elderly care issues.The ability to take care of oneself,parent-child relationship,leisure activities,and frequent contact with elderly people of the same age have a significant impact on healthy elderly care through mediating variables-psychological health status(all P(0.01).Ef-fective improvement of the health and elderly care of empty nest elderly in rural areas should start from the wide range of factors affect-ing their health,and pay attention to the entire life cycle and physical and mental health process of empty nest elderly.Carry out education on healthy aging and psychological health census,improve family care capabilities,establish a dynamic elderly care security system,in-corporate healthy elderly care for empty nest elderly into the assessment of rural revitalization goals,and gradually achieve the integra-tion of urban and rural health elderly care services.
