Effect of acupressure combined with oral exercise training on swallowing function and quality of life in patients with swallowing dysfunction
Objective To investigate the effects of acupressure combined with oral exercise training on swallowing function and quality of life in patients with swallowing dysfunction. Methods A total of 120 patients with swallowing dysfunction admitted to the department of neurology of Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were included in this study. They were divided into control group(acupressure)and observation group(acupressure combined with oral exercise training)according to random number method, with 60 cases in each group.Standarized swallowing assessment(SSA),swallowing-quality of life(SWAL-QOL),nutritional status and psychological state were observed before and 3 weeks after intervention. Results The SSA score of observation group was lower than that of control group after intervention(P<0.05).The SWAL-QOL score of observation group was higher than that of control group after intervention(P<0.05).The hemoglobin and albumin levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of self-rating depression scale(SDS)and self-rating anxietsy scale(SAS)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of acupressure combined with oral exercise training in patients with dysphagia can effectively promote the recovery of swallowing function in patients with dysphagia, reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, improve nutritional status, and further improve the quality of life.
