Analysis on Accumulation of Andrographolide and 14-deoxy-11,12-didehy-droandrographolide in the Leaves of Andrographis paniculata Nees Introduced from Different Sources
Objective To observe the accumulation of andrographolide and 14-deoxy-ll, 12-didehy - droandrographolide in the leaves of Andrographis paniculata Nees introduced from different sources, and to obtain evidences for seed breeding of Andrographis paniculata Nees. Methods Leaves of Andrographis paniculata Nees at various growth stage planted in the same land as well as those came from different sources were collected, and andrographolide and 14 -deoxy -11, 12 - didehy - droandrographolide in the leaves were determined by HPLC. Results The results of data analysis showed the contents of andrographolide and 14 -deoxy - 11, 12 -didehy - droandrographolide obviously correlated with the growing period. For either small - leaf type or large - leave type of Andrographis paniculata Nees, their andrographolide content had a positive correlation with the blooming date, i. e. the later the blooming date and the longer the growing period, the more the andrographolide content, and the correlation coefficient of large - leaf type was 0. 951 and that of small - leaf type was 0. 899. However, the content of 14 - deoxy -11, 12 - didehy - droandrographolide was reverse, i. e., the later the blooming date, the less the content, and the correlation coefficient of large - leaf type was -0. 930 and that of small - leaf type was - 0. 979. Conclusion It is suggested that seed breeding of Andrographis paniculata Nees should select the large - leaf type with later blooming date.
