Study on correlation between feedback seeking behavior,career success,and resignation intention of surgical nurses in four third Class A hospitals in Sichuan Province
Objective To investigate the status and correlation of feedback seeking behavior,career success and turnover intention of surgical nurses in tertiary hospitals,and to analyze the mediating role of career success in their feedback seeking behavior and turnover intention.Methods A total of 253 surgical nurses from four third Class A hospitals in Sichuan Province were investigated from May to June 2022,using the convenience sampling method and the general information questionnaire,feedback seeking be-havior scale,career success scale and turnover intention scale,then the data were analyzed.Results The scores of feedback seeking behavior,career success and turnover intention of surgical nurses in third Class A hospitals were(57.11±9.52),(36.51±6.48)and(14.84±3.19)points,respectively.Single analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of feedback seeking behavior,career success and turnover intention of foreign nurses with different genders,educational levels,employment methods,length of service,professional title,monthly income,health status,weekly overtime hours(all P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that feedback seeking behavior was negatively correlated with turnover intention(P<0.05),positive correlation with career success(P<0.05).Career success was negatively correlated with turnover intention(P<0.05).The mediating effect analysis showed that career success had a partial mediating effect between feedback seeking behavior and turnover inten-tion,and the mediating effect was 0.107,accounting for 20.34%of the total effect.Conclusion The turnover intention of surgical nurses in third Class A hospitals is relative high.Feedback seeking behavior and career success have a positive effect on reducing turnover intention.Nursing managers should strengthen the training of nurses'feedback seeking behavior and improve their career success to reduce turnover rate.
