Mediating effect of job-esteem on the relationship between occupational coping self-efficacy and work well-being of midwives in Jiangsu Province
Objective To analyze the relationship between occupational coping self-efficacy,job-esteem and work well-being among midwives in Jiangsu Province,and to explore the mechanism of the role of job-esteem in the relationship between occupational coping self-efficacy and work well-being among midwives.Methods From October 2022 to January 2023,a total of 267 midwives were selected from Jiangsu Province to conduct a questionnaire survey using general information questionnaire,occupational coping self-efficacy scale,job-esteem scale and hospital work well-being scale,and the data were analyzed.Results Among 267 midwives,the score of occupational coping self-efficacy,job-esteem and work well-being was(39.76±2.36),(99.70±7.91)and(88.12±3.47)points,respectively.The correlation analysis showed that occupational coping self-efficacy,job-esteem and work well-being were positively correlated(all P<0.01).Structural equation model showed that occupational coping self-efficacy and job-esteem of nurse midwife had a direct effect on work well-being(β=0.426,0.164,both P<0.01),and job-esteem partially mediated the relationship between occupational coping self-efficacy and work well-being in midwife,with a mediating effect value of 0.110,accounting for 20.52%of the total effect.Conclusion Occupational coping self-efficacy can directly affects the work well-being of midwives in Jiangsu Province,and can also indirectly affects work well-being through job-esteem.
