Meta-analysis on the prevalence of burnout among operating room nurses in China
Objective To estimate the prevalence of burnout among operating room nurses in China,aiming to provide reference for burnout intervention.Methods Web of Science,PubMed,Embase,the Cochrane Library,CHINAL,CNKI,VIP,WanFang and CBM databases were searched to collect literatures related to burnout among operating room nurses in China.Data analysis was performed with the use of Stata 14.0.Results The search yielded 20 studies involving 4 061 Chinese operating room nurses.Meta-analysis results showed that prevalence of high emotional exhaustion,highly depersonalized and low personal accomplishment was 33.6%(95%CI:0.261-0.412),24.8%(95%CI:0.185-0.311),47.3%(95%CI:0.375-0.571).Subgroup analysis showed that the prevalence of high burnout was higher in nurses aged 30 or younger,bachelor degree or above,studies in eastern China and 2018-2022.Conclusion The prevalence of burnout among operating room nurses in China is relatively high,and it is necessary to take effective prevention and control measures to relieve burnout.
