Mediating role of social support in the relationship between work stress and job burnout of class teachers
Objective To understand the impact of class teachers'work stress on job burnout,focusing on the moderating effect of social support.Methods In September 2022,a cluster sampling method was adopted to select 2 075 ordinary high school class teachers in Harbin City as the investigation objects.A questionnaire survey was conducted using social support scale,job stress scale and job burnout scale,and the data were analyzed.Results The total score of work stress,social support and job burnout were(4.012±0.279),(2.573±0.574)and(3.315±0.740)points,respectively.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the total score of work stress for class teachers was positively correlated with the total score of job burnout(r=0.240,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with the total score of social support(r=-0.149,P<0.01).Multiple regression analysis showed that student problems,work load,family interpersonal,self-development were the main influencing factors of class teacher job burnout(all P<0.05).Conclusion The class teachers have high work stress,low level of social support and serious job burnout.Work stress can positively predict job burnout.Social support has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between workload stressors and job burnout,with leadership support having the strongest moderating effect.
