Mediating role of safety behavior between job crafting and professional life quality of nursing staff from tertiary hospitals in Beijing City
Objective To investigate the current status of job crafting,safety behavior,and quality of working life among nursing staff of tertiary hospitals in Beijing City,explore the mediating role of safety behavior between job crafting and quality of working life of nursing staff.Methods By the convenience sampling method,the nursing staff from three tertiary hospitals in Beijing City were surveyed from October 2022 to February 2023.A questionnaire survey was conducted using the general information questionnaire,nurse safety behavior scale,job crafting scale,and quality of working life scale.The Mplus 7.0 software was used to construct a structural equation model,to verify the mediating role of nurse safety behavior.Results A total of 475 questionnaires were collected,of which 458 were valid,with a questionnaire effectiveness rate of 96.4%.The scores of safety behavior,job crafting and quality of working life of surveyed nursing staff were(54.95±8.68),(78.33±10.45)and(182.06±42.15)points,respectively.The job crafting of nursing staff was positively correlated with safety behavior and quality of working life(r=0.370,0.422,both P<0.01),while the safety behavior of nurses was positively correlated with quality of working life(r=0.589,P<0.01).The nurses'safety behaviors played a partial mediating role between job crafting and quality of working life,with the mesomeric effect of 0.239,accounting for 32.04%of the total effect.Conclusion The job crafting not only directly predicts the quality of working life of nursing staff from tertiary hospitals in Beijing City,but also indirectly predicts the quality of working life through nurses'safety behavior.
