Meta analysis of the awareness rate of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers in China
Objective To systematically evaluate the awareness of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers in China.Methods A search was conducted on China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,VIP,PubMed,and The Cochrane Library to collect literature on the awareness of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers in China,which was publicly published from January 1,2010 to September 1,2022.Revman 5.4.1 software was used for meta-analysis.Results Heterogeneity tests were conducted on the 8 studies included,with I2=99%,P<0.05,indicating significant heterogeneity.Therefore,a random effects model was used for effect size analysis.The results showed that the total awareness rate of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers in China was 69%(95%CI:57%-82%).Subgroup analysis showed that there was no significant difference in awareness of radiation protection between male and female radiation workers(P<0.05).The awareness rate of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers with bachelor degree or above[65%(95%CI:55%-76%)]was higher than that of those with junior college degree or below[57%(95%CI:45%-69%)],and the awareness rate of radiation workers with junior professional titles[60%(95%CI:52%-69%)].was lower than that with middle and senior professional titles[67%(95%CI:54%-81%)].Conclusion The awareness rate of radiation protection knowledge among radiation workers in our country is not high.It is necessary to strengthen the relevant education and skill training of radiation workers in radiation protection,and continuously improve their awareness of radiation protection.
