Establishment and reliability and validity testing of a knowledge,attitude and practice scale for nurses with occupational varicose veins of the lower extremities
Objective To develop an evaluation scale to measure the level of knowledge,attitude and practice of nurses with occupational lower extremities varicose veins,and to conduct reliability and validity tests.Methods Based on the theory of knowledge,attitude and practice,the initial questionnaire was constructed through literature analysis,Delphi expert correspondence and pre-investigation.In December 2022,a total of 460 nurses from 3 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Hunan Province were selected as research objects to conduct a questionnaire survey,and the data were analyzed by item analysis,exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis.Results The final scale of knowledge,attitude and practice of occupational lower extremities varicose veins in nurses was divided into three dimensions:knowledge,attitude and practice,with a total of 38 items.The Cronbach's α coefficients of total scale and each dimension were 0.927,0.935,0.943,0.894,respectively.The split-half reliability coefficients were 0.735,0.809,0.872 and 0.799,respectively.The test-retest reliability coefficients were 0.717,0.792,0.807 and 0.799,respectively.The content validity ranged from 0.857 to 1.000.Based on the results of exploratory factor analysis,three common factors were extracted,with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 53.7％.Conclusion The nurses'occupational lower extremities varicose vein knowledge,attitude,and practice scale has good reliability and validity,and can be used as an effective tool to evaluate the current status of nurses'occupational varicose veins of the lower extremities.
