Analysis on current status of professional identity of midwives in Nanchang City and its correlation with psychological resilience and perceived stress
Objective To investigate the status of midwives'professional identity in Nanchang City and its correlation with psychological resilience and perceived stress.Methods From October to December 2022,a convenience sampling method was used to survey 107 midwives from four tertiary hospitals in Nanchang City,and the data were analyzed.Results The average score of midwives'professional identity in four tertiary hospitals in Nanchang was(107.80±17.72)points.There were statistically significant differences in the occupational identity scores of midwives with different ages,marital status,education level,professional title,working years,night shift rotation,self-rated work stress,and self-rated sleep quality(all P<0.05).The professional identity scores of midwives in Nanchang was positively correlated with the scores of various dimensions and total scores of psychological resilience(all P<0.01),and negatively correlated with the scores of various dimensions and total scores of perceived stress(all P<0.01).After controlling for the general data,psychological resilience and perceived stress were important factors affecting the professional identity of midwives in Nanchang.Conclusion The professional identity of midwives in four tertiary hospitals in Nanchang is at a medium to high level.Improving the psychological resilience of midwives and reducing the perceived stress will help to improve their professional identity.
