Relationship between Fingerprint and Anti-Oxidative Activity of NOTOPTERYGⅡ RHIZOMA ET RADIX Decoction Pieces and Its Water-Extracted Dregs
Objective:To develop a UPLC fingerprint for NOTOPTERYGⅡ RHIZOMA ET RADIX decoction pieces and its water-extracted dregs and evaluate the relationship between the fingerprint and anti-oxidative activities,so as to provide a basis for the development and utilization of their resources. Methods:UPLC method was applied to determine the fingerprints of 10 batches of NOTOPTERYGⅡ RHIZOMA ET RADIX decoction pieces and their correlative water-extracted dregs, and then similarity was calculated.Meanwhile, hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA)and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA)were employed to distinguish the chemical differences between them. The anti-oxidative indexes were examined by DPPH and ABTS,on which the spectra-effect model was established by grey relation anal-ysis(Grey)and partial least squares regression method(PLSR).Results:18 common peaks were marked out on fingerprints of NO-TOPTERYGII RHIZOMA ET RADIX decoction pieces and the dregs, which could be remarkably distinguished by HCA and OPLS-DA con-sistently.All samples performed considerable anti-oxidative abilities, while the activity of decoction pieces was higher than that of dregs.10 peaks of positive correlation with anti-oxidative activities were screened, including the peaks 1,2,3,6,11(notopterol),12,13(isoimpera-torin),14,15,and 16.Conclusions:The research has established the quality evaluation pattern based on chemical ingredients and anti-oxida-tive activities for NOTOPTERYGⅡ RHIZOMA ET RADIX,rendering a comprehensive reference on quality control and resource exploitation for Chinese decoction pieces and the water-extracted residues.
