Analysis of Jaundice Animal Model:Based on the Clinical Syndrome Characteristics in Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine
In recent years, the prevalence of jaundice has been on the rise as the disease becomes more complex, which poses a challenge to the treatment. An accurate animal model is the key to the study of this disease.Based on the clinical symptoms of this disease in traditional Chi-nese medicine(TCM)and western medicine as well as the clinical diagnostic criteria, this study analyzed the currently available animal mod-els of jaundice, designed the diagnostic criteria in traditional Chinese and western medicine, and evaluated the match degree. The results showed that the existing animal models mainly include obstructive jaundice, jaundice with Yinhuang(阴黄)syndrome, jaundice with Yang-huang(阳黄)syndrome,hepatocellular jaundice, and hemolytic jaundice models. There are more western medicine models and fewer TCM syndrome models. In addition, there are a few drugs and therapies in western medicine for the treatment of jaundice and they have side effects. However,TCM shows ideal effect and the medicines are mild, with little irritation, which thus should be put on the top priority in the treatment of this disease. In the future, animal models of TCM syndromes should be improved, thereby laying a theoretical basis for the re-search and development of drugs and early prevention and treatment of the disease.
