Study on the Relationship between Porphyromonas gingivalis and Alzheimer's Disease from the Theory of "Toxin Damaging Brain Collaterals"
Alzheimer's disease(AD)is an age-related neurodegenerative disease, which is a common problem to be solved urgently under the back-ground of global aging. So far,its pathogenesis has not been completely clear.Recently, studies have shown that Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.g)is closely related to the pathogenesis of AD.This paper, based on the theory of"toxin damaging brain collaterals"and in combination with recent research progress, discussed the correlation between P.g and AD,aiming to provide a new idea for the treatment of AD and other neurodegenerative diseases.
