Progress in AIDS Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has treated acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)for more than 30 years and has played a positive role in stabilizing or improving the immune capacity,alleviating adverse reactions,retarding the onset of AIDS,and treating oppor-tunistic infections.Currently,antiretroviral therapy is widely used,and determining the treatment direction and purpose is a key point that needs to be solved in future research on the treatment of AIDS with TCM.Therefore,this article summarized the relevant research on the dif-ferentiation and treatment of AIDS with TCM in recent years and provided a reference for in-depth research.At present,the related research on the treatment of AIDS with TCM includes the syndrome types,constitutions,and drug preparations related to AIDS and its complications;key and difficult clinical issues are poor immune reconstitution,opportunistic infections,adverse drug reactions,and complications.In the future,it is necessary to take advantage of TCM to facilitate antiviral treatment,improve poor immune reconstitution,and alleviate adverse drug reactions and focus on solving key problems,encouraging multi-disciplinary cooperation,strengthening basic research,providing high-level evidence-based evidence,and adopting high-tech methods,so as to solve difficult problems related to AIDS.
