Analysis of Animal Models of Chronic Prostatitis Based on Clinical Characteristics of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine
Chronic prostatitis(CP)is a common disease in the field of andrology and urological surgery, with a reported incidence rate in China ran-ging from 6.0%to 32.9%.Although this disease does not directly threaten life,it severely affects the physical and mental health as well as the quality of life of patients. This article mainly explored existing animal models of CP based on the clinical characteristics of CP in traditional Chi-nese and western medicine and the clinical diagnostic criteria, developed diagnostic criteria for CP in traditional Chinese and western medicine, and evaluated the degree of conformity between existing animal models and clinical symptoms. The analysis results showed that the existing ani-mal models of CP mainly included the Shire xiazhu(湿热下注)type,Shenyangxu(肾阳虚)type, immune types(estrogen-induced castration and purified prostate protein stimulation),chemically induced types(prostate injection of hemorrhoid cream or carrageenan),bacterial infection types(Escherichia coli-induced infection),and spontaneous type(spontaneous models in elderly animals). In the future, objective indicators of traditional Chinese medicine should be added to improve the conformity between the models and clinical diseases.
