Research and Transformation of Tibetan Medicine:A Case Study of Catalogue of Ancient Classic Prescriptions(Second Batch)
As an important component of ethnic medicine in China,Tibetan medicine is a healthcare and ecological resource with significant thera-peutic advantages and development potential. On September 1,2023,the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine,in con-junction with the National Medical Products Administration, officially released the Catalogue of Ancient Classic Prescriptions(Second Batch). This catalogue includes 217 ancient classic prescriptions, among which 34 are Tibetan medicine prescriptions. The purpose of this catalogue is to fully utilize the therapeutic advantages of Tibetan and other ethnic medicines, simplify the registration and approval procedures, and ac-celerate the development and innovation of related preparations. However, due to the relatively late development of the Tibetan medicine in-dustry and the limited understanding and application of Tibetan and other ethnic medicines in other regions, there are still many challenges to be addressed in the research and development of Tibetan medicine.Based on the Tibetan medicine section of the Catalogue of Ancient Classic Prescriptions(Second Batch),this article analyzes and summarizes the overall characteristics of Tibetan medicine included and representative prescriptions, and proposes thoughts and suggestions to address the challenges faced in the transformation and application of Tibetan medi-cine,with the hope of contributing to the inheritance, innovation, and high-quality development of the Tibetan medicine industry.
