Clinical Application of Comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment in Perioperative Acne Vulgaris of the Breast
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of a comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment plan in perioperative patients with acne vulgaris of the breast at different stages. Methods:A prospective cohort study was conducted, enrolling 200 perioperative patients with acne vulgaris of the breast who were admitted to the Breast Department of Shuguang Hospital from April 2021 to December 2022.Patients were divided into three groups based on clinical presentation and auxiliary examinations:the mass stage group(75 cases),the abscess stage group(109 cases),and the fistula stage group(16 cases). All patients received a treatment plan combining internal treatments such as syndrome differentiation-based TCM,antimicrobial drugs, and corticosteroids, along with external treatments like compression therapy and surgery. The treatment efficacy was evaluated by measuring incision healing time, recovery time, cure rate, and recurrence rate. Results:One month and six months post-surgery,there was no significant difference in the cure rate among the three groups(P>0.05),with overall cure rates of 91.0%and 96.5%respectively.There was no significant difference in incision healing time among the three groups(P>0.05).However,the time to recovery was shorter in the fistula stage group compared to the abscess stage group(P<0.05).The total time from onset to recovery was shorter in the mass stage and abscess stage groups compared to the fistula stage group(P<0.05),with no significant difference between the mass stage and abscess stage groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the distribution of same-side recurrence, new same-side occurrence,or new opposite-side occurrence among the three groups(P>0.05),with recurrence rates of 5.5%for same-side recurrence,1.5%for new same-side occurrence, and 1.5%for new opposite-side occurrence. No adverse reactions such as allergies, nervous excitability, menstrual disorders,or abnormal liver and kidney function were observed during the treatment. Conclusion:The comprehensive TCM treatment plan is highly effective and safe for perioperative patients with acne vulgaris of the breast, exhibiting a high cure rate and low recurrence rate.
