Effects of Guiling Paan Pill(龟羚帕安丸)on Serum Neuron-specific Enolase,Cystatin C,5-hydroxytryptamine,5-hydroxyindoleacetic Acid and Norepinephrine in Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay Rats
Objective To observe the effects of Guiling Paan Pill(龟羚帕安丸)on serum levels of neuron-specific enolase(NSE),Cystatin C(Cys-C),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid(5-HIAA)and norepinephrine(NE)in Parkinson's disease(PD)rats. Methods The PD rat model was made by injection of 6-hydroxy dopamine(6-OHDA).The successful PD rats were randomly divided into model group(n=15),western medicine group(n=15),high dose group(n=15),middle dose group(n=15),low dose group(n=15)and combination group(n=15).The model group and sham operation group were given the same volume of normal saline, and the other groups were given corresponding drugs for 4 weeks. The serum levels of NSE,Cys-C,5-HT,5-HIAA and NE were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results In the model group, the levels of serum NSE and Cys-C were significantly increased, while the levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA and NE were significantly decreased. The levels of serum NSE and Cys-C in each dose group of traditional Chinese medicine, the combina-tion group of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and the Western medicine group were significantly reduced while the lev-els of 5-HT,5-HIAA and NE were significantly increased. Conclusion Guiling Paan Pill has obvious neuroprotective effect, which is related to the decrease of the levels of NSE and Cys-C,the increase of 5-HT,5-HIAA and NE,the decrease of brain parenchyma injury, nerve inflammatory injury and the increase of monoamine neurotransmitters.
