Research Progress on Mechanism of Small Molecule Drugs in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Anti-Tumor Immunity
Tumor immunotherapy has become a new type of anti-tumor therapy with the most potential at present,and the combination of immunotherapy with chemotherapy and targeting has become the first-line treatment for a variety of malignant tumors.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)plays an important role in the comprehensive treatment of tumor.It can play an anti-tumor role by increasing the number of immune cells,improving the activity of immune cells and improving the immune microenvi-ronment of tumor.There are a wide variety of TCM small molecule drugs,which have the characteristics of multi-target,multi-pathway and extensive pharmacological action and so on and are the hot research field of many oncologists at present.A large number of studies have found that TCM small molecule drugs for anti-tumor immunity are mostly classified into polysaccharide,flavonoid,diketone and flavonoid compounds,etc.The activity of immune cells can be improved directly or indirectly by regula-ting the innate immune system(including macrophages,dendritic cells,natural killer cells and myeloid suppressor cells,etc.),the adaptive immune system(including T lymphocytes,B cells and regulatory T cells,etc.)and related cytokines[including interleu-kin-2(IL-2),interleukin-4(IL-4),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),etc.]and increasing the lethality of immune cells to tumor cells,so as to improve the tumor immune microenvironment and better play the anti-tumor role.Based on the collection of recent studies on the role of TCM small molecule drugs in the field of anti-tumor immunity,this paper discussed the mechanism of TCM small molecule drugs in regulating immune cells,with a view to providing a new theoretical basis for the treatment of tumor by TCM and helping to realize the modernization of TCM in the treatment of tumor.
