Chronic kidney disease(CKD)is a common disease in the department of nephrology,which is caused by multiple factors.In recent years,the incidence rate and hospitalization rate of patients with CKD,especially end-stage CKD,have in-creased significantly,seriously threatening the life and health safety of patients.Mitochondria play an important role in cell energy metabolism and generation,and their dysfunction can lead to kidney energy supply insufficiency and oxidative stress damage,which has become one of the world's public health problems.In view of this,based on relevant studies,this paper described the structure and function of mitochondria,analyzed the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in the pathogenesis and treatment of CKD,and summarized the protection of mitochondrial function by traditional Chinese medicine and its extracts,aiming to provide new i-deas for clinical treatment of CKD.
