Analysis of Influencing Factors Related to Hospitalization Time of 2897 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant Patients with Mild Symptoms/Asymptomatic Infection in A Cabin Hospital in Shanghai
Objective To explore the influencing factors related to the hospitalization time of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant patients with mild symptoms/asymptomatic infection in a cabin hospital in Shanghai. Methods The data of 2897 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant patients with mild symptoms/asymptomatic infection admitted to the Shanghai Jingcan Road(Luojing Jingdong)cabin hospital was retrospectively collected. The general information, hospitalization time and its difference according to different characteristics were analyzed.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of hospitalization time.Based on the results of univariate analysis, the binary logistic regression analysis was used to figure out the possible influen-cing factors when hospitalization time was greater than 14 days. Results The average hospitalization time of 2897 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant patients with symptoms/asymptomatic infections was(9.1±4.6)days.The hospitalization time of infected in-dividuals with different ages, positive nucleic acid test results before entering the cabin, and accompanying symptoms including cough, sputum, sore throat, fever, runny nose, nasal congestion, dry mouth and throat, headache, fatigue, muscle pain, diarrhea, chills, nausea and vomiting, and dizziness varies, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multiple linear re-gression analysis showed that the hospitalization time would increase when patients had advanced age, diabetes, and sore throat,fe-ver,runny nose and myalgia, but shorten with longer onset time. Those who had been hospitalized for more than 14 days had a higher proportion of the elderly, diabetes history and symptoms of sore throat, fever, dry mouth and dry throat, myalgia, nausea and vomiting. The onset time was relatively shorter, and the proportion of vaccinations of 2 doses or more was lower, with significant difference(P<0.05).The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that advanced age, short onset time,diabetes,fe-ver,and dry mouth and throat symptoms may be the risk factors leading to more than 14 days of hospitalization, and vaccination of two or more shots may be protective factors. Conclusion The average hospitalization time for Omicron variant mild/asymptomatic infections is about 9 days. The advanced age,two or more shots of vaccination, diabetes and short onset time may influence the hospitalization time,as well as symptoms with deficiency of vital Qi,pathogens invading the interior, exuberant heat consuming Yin fluid, such as sore throat, fever, runny nose, dry mouth and throat, myalgia, etc. It is suggested to identify high-risk patients with slow nucleic acid conversion tine and long hospitalization time early to provide guidance for shortening the time of nucleic acid conversion and precise prevention for risk group.
