An Important Acupuncture Paper Repeatedly Miscited and Anatomical Research on Acupoints in Early 1960s
An important research paper on acupuncture anatomy has been repeatedly miscited for more than 60 years. It was published in the first issue of the Journal of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1960.Using anatomical ap-proaches,six authors found that meridians and acupoints are closely related to the nerve and vascular systems.Their conclusion was clear and had a broad impact. However, this paper has been miscited in several forms in current literature bases, and the o-riginal text is not available yet.The errors of citations ignore the contributions of some authors, and the title and page numbers are also incorrectly expressed.A timely correction is highly recommended.Reports and citations on anatomical research of acu-points published by various medical institutes in early 1960s in China are also briefly discussed.
