Exploring Theoretical Study of Jiaogulan(Gynostemmatis Pentaphylli Herba)Regulating Glycolysis through METTL3-mediated RNA m6A Modification in Treatment of Arteriosclerosis and Ovarian Cancer Based on"Blood Vessels Relating to Heart"
Cardiovascular disease and cancer are the main causes of illness and death in human beings.The study has found a potential link in them.From the point of view of traditional Chinese medicine,arteriosclerosis is located in the blood vessels and corresponds to the"Pulse"which is one of the extraordinary Fu-organs.Ovarian cancer is caused by dysfunction of Zang-Fu organs and disorder of Chong-Ren meridians,and obstruction of uterus caused by pathogenic toxin.Plain Question·Comment on Febrile Disease said:"The blood vessels belong to heart and regulate to collaterals."It can be seen that the two diseases can take"Pulse"as a bridge to build connections.Jiaogulan(Gynostemmatis Pentaphylli Herba)can resolve phlegm and relieve cough,invigorate spleen and regulate Qi,supplement Qi and activate blood circulation,detoxicate and remove dampness,and has many pharmacological effects,such as regulating blood lipids,anti-aging,regulating body immunity and anti-tumor,etc.In the cardiovascular system and the field of cancer,the effect is remarkable.N 6-methyladenosine(m6A)methylation is the most common epigenetics of eukaryotic mRNA.The m6A methylation is widely involved in many biological behaviors of intracellular RNA through regulating and modifying mRNA,thus affecting disease progression and tumorigenesis.Based on the theory of"blood vessels regulating to heart"and the viewpoint of treating different diseases with the same treatment in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),this paper constructed a"drug-component-target"network,using METTL3-mediated RNA m6A modifica-tion glycolytic process as the entry point,the TCM connotation and modern pharmacological action of Jiaogulan(Gynostemmatis Pentaphylli Herba)on arteriosclerosis and ovarian cancer were discussed.
