The theoretical innovation of liver governing growth provides a new theoretical basis of viscera-state of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for the prevention and treatment of liver and related diseases.The important knowledge systems include"marrow stem cells differentiating into liver cells","marrow stem cells failing to differentiate into liver cells"and"tonifying kid-ney to promote liver regeneration and repair by effecting stem cells and their microenvironment".The main research content is TCM regulating the occurrence,development,regeneration and repair for the prevention and treatment of liver and related disea-ses.On the basis of obtaining high-level evidence-based medicine evidence to improve the clinical efficacy and clarifying the mechanism of efficacy,a diagnosis and treatment system is constructed:Evaluating and monitoring the disease progress,diagnosis and treatment standards for disease identification and syndrome differentiation,overall dynamic prevention and treatment programs and innovative prescriptions for liver governing growth.It has reduced the incidence of cirrhosis in patients with chronic liver dis-ease,the risk and incidence of liver cancer,the incidence of liver failure and the mortality of patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure and chronic liver failure,reduced or alleviated the complications,improved the immune function reconstruction ability of AIDS patients,the quality of life of the patients and the ability and level of TCM to prevent and treat liver and its related disea-ses and syndromes.These reflect its theoretical significance and clinical value.
