Analysis on Toxic Characteristics and External Use of Medium and Small Toxic Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2020 Edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia
Objective Through the analysis of the toxic characteristics of medium and small toxic traditional Chinese medicine in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia,this paper finds out the key active components of small toxic traditional Chinese medicine,expounds the toxic side effects and adverse reactions of small toxic traditional Chinese medicine,and eliminates the hid-den danger of clinical use;and carries on the clinical application analysis to the small toxic traditional Chinese medicine based on the way of external use,in order to provide clinical data reference.Methods According to the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmaco-poeia,the small toxic traditional Chinese medicine was screened,searched in China knowledge Network,and analyzed by Excel ac-cording to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Results Small toxic traditional Chinese medicine is used externally in the treatment of bone and joint diseases,skin diseases,anorectal diseases,pain,gynecological diseases,glandular inflammation,respiratory sys-tem diseases,nervous system diseases,thoracic and abdominal edema,insomnia,trauma and other fields with good clinical effects.Small toxic traditional Chinese medicine generally has hepatotoxicity,and long-term administration is easy to cause liver injury.Its toxic material basis is mostly alkaloids,saponins and terpenoids,animal traditional Chinese medicine is mainly composed of polypeptides.The poisoning manifestations of small toxic traditional Chinese medicine are mostly dizziness,vomiting and gastroin-testinal reactions,and there are few life-threatening clinical cases reported.Small toxic traditional Chinese medicine can be used as paste,ointment,acupoint patch and directly applied to the affected area.The commonly used excipients are alcohol solvent,vinegar,honey and so on.Conclusion Small toxic traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in clinic,but because of its general hepatotoxicity,the external use can make the absorption and distribution of drugs more uniform,reduce the metabolic burden of the liver,and it is safer than oral administration.Through the analysis of the external use of small toxic traditional Chinese medi-cine,it finds out the rule of external use,supplements the external dose range of small toxic traditional Chinese medicine and pro-vides the data reference for clinical use.
