Inflammation is a defensive response produced by the body to stimulation.With the development of inflammation,it may lead to the variation and proliferation of tissues,further aggravating the process of disease.Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)is the"king of all drugs"and"Guolao of the drugs".As early as in Shennong Bencao Classic,it recorded the strong heat-clearing effect of Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)and it can treat"the cold and heat evils of five Zang organs and six Fu organs".Modern studies have shown that Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)extract can significantly improve the symptoms of glomerulonephritis and colitis,and Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)and its preparations have certain unique advantages and development potential in the treatment of hepatitis,gastritis,bronchitis,myocarditis,ankylosing spondylitis and other inflammatory diseases.The purpose of this study was to explore the main active ingredients and target pathway of the anti-inflammatory effects of Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)through the collection and collation of recent domestic and for-eign literatures on the basis of the anti-inflammatory substances and their mechanism of action,in order to provide ideas and ref-erences for the further research on the anti-inflammatory effects of Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma)and the research and development of anti-inflammatory drugs.
