Shuyu Pill(薯蓣丸)in Synopsis of The Golden Chamber(Jingui Yaolue)has the effect of nourishing Qi and blood,supporting the healthy Qi and replenishing deficiency and dispelling wind and evils,it is a classic prescription to treat all kinds of consumptive diseases.Modern doctors have extended the application to tumor diseases,and also have received satisfacto-ry curative effect.This paper summarized the application of Shuyu Pill in tumor diseases from the molecular mechanism and clini-cal research.It is found that the anti-tumor mechanism of Shuyu Pill mainly includes inhibiting tumor cell proliferation,promo-ting apoptosis,anti-tumor metastasis,improving the tumor micro-environment,regulating immune disorder and so on,the mo-lecular mechanism is clear.The clinical effects mainly reflect in promoting appetite,improving cachexia status,relieving clinical symptoms,assisting western medicine to attenuate toxicity and enhance immunity,improving the quality of life of patients and so on with good results,low price,safe and non-toxic,being suitable for long-term use of tumor patients and can be promoted in clinical practice.In this paper,the current status of Shuyu Pill in the treatment of cancer was comprehensively analyzed by litera-ture induction and the deficiencies and improvements of current experimental and clinical studies were proposed,in order to pro-vide relevant basis and support for the subsequent in-depth research of this prescription and the development of a new model of tumor treatment.
