Effects of Yiqi Jianpi Recipe(益气健脾方)Combined with Toad Venom Injection on T Lymphocyte Subsets Balance and Gastrointestinal Hormones in Patients with Advanced Gastric Cancer
Objective To analyze the effects of Yiqi Jianpi Recipe(益气健脾方)combined with toad venom injection in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer and the effects on the balance of T lymphocyte subsets and gastrointestinal hormones in pa-tients.Methods In this study,85 patients with advanced gastric cancer(admitted from March 2021 to December 2022)were di-vided into two groups by random number table method.The patients in the control group(42 cases)were treated with chemother-apy and those in the traditional Chinese medicine regimen group(43 cases)were treated with Yiqi Jianpi Recipe and toad venom injection on the basis of chemotherapy treatment.In each group,the changes in efficacy,adverse reactions,TCM syndrome scores(epigastric pain,nausea and vomiting,loss of appetite,emaciation,hematemesis and black stool,etc.),the changes in tumor markers,inflammatory factors,T lymphocyte subsets and gastrointestinal hormones,and the changes in tumor quality of life(Karnofsky performance status,KPS)were observed.Results The total effective rate between the control group and the traditional Chinese medicine regimen group was significant[52.38％(22/42)vs 76.74％(33/43)](P＜0.05).The adverse reactions in traditional Chinese medicine regimen group were less than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The levels of carbohydrate anti-gen 19-9(CA19-9)and carbohydrate antigen72-4(carbohydr ateantigen72-4)and other tumor markers,the levels of inter-leukin 6(IL-6),interleukin 8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)and other indicators of inflammatory factors,the levels of CD4+T lymphocytes(cluster of differentiation 4,CD4+),CD8+T lymphocyte subsets(cluster of differentiation 8,CD8+),CD4+/CD8+and other T lymphocyte subsets,the levels of pepsinogenⅠ(PGI),pepsinogen Ⅱ(PG Ⅱ)and gastrin(GAS),KPS score and other indexes in both groups before treatment were not significant(all P＞0.05).After treatment,TCM syndrome scores(epigas-tric pain,nausea and vomiting,loss of appetite,emaciation,hematemesis and black stool,etc.),the levels of CA19-9,CA72-4,CEA,IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α were decreased in both groups,and the levels in traditional Chinese medicine regimen group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05).There were no significant changes in CD4+,CD8+or CD4+/CD8+in the control group after treatment(P＞0.05).The level of CD4+increased,the level of CD8+decreased,and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+increased in traditional Chinese medicine regimen group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of PGI,PG Ⅱ and GAS and KPS scores in both groups were increased,and those in the traditional Chinese medicine regimen group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Yiqi Jianpi Recipe combined with toad venom injection in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer is helpful to improve the therapeutic effect of advanced gastric cancer,regulate the balance of T lymphocyte subgroups and gastro-intestinal hormones,inhibit the inflammatory response of the body,improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the adverse reaction of treatment,and the treatment is safe and reliable.
