Study on Characteristics and Mechanism of"Tongue Image-Tongue Coating Microbiome"in People with Unbalance of Glucose Homeostasis for Early Screening
Unbalance of glucose homeostasis is an independent risk factor for many chronic major diseases, such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, dementia and malignant tumors. It has great clinical harm, but its highly reversible characteristics also provide an opportunity window for the early prevention and treatment of these major diseases. However,at present, there is no systematic study on early screening intervention for people with unbalance of glucose homeostasis. The screening methods used for prediabetes,an important part of the population, are insufficient in specificity and accuracy, and their clinical application is limit-ed.In the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine, tongue image is an important basis to reflect the growth and decline of healthy Qi and progression and regression of the diseases. In the course of"glucose homeostasis-unbalance of glucose homeosta-sis-diabetes",tongue image has certain dynamic evolution characteristics. And the underlying mechanism of tongue image change may be closely related to tongue coating microorganisms.Based on the clinical appearance and microbiome characteristics of"tongue image-tongue coating microbiome"in people with unbalance of glucose homeostasis,a macro-micro mapping model of"tongue image-tongue coating microbiome"is constructed, which is expected to provide a new path for large-scale early screening and early prevention and treatment of related diseases in people with unbalance of glucose homeostasis. It also provides a new perspective for elucidating the scientific connotation of traditional Chinese medicine tongue diagnosis theory and exploring the evolution characteristics and potential mechanism of complex diseases.
