Effect of Compound Cantharidin Capsules(复方斑蝥胶囊)Combined with Rotational Volume Modulation Technique on Survival and Serum Levels of XRCC1 and XRCC3 mRNA in Patients Undergoing Head and Neck Radiotherapy
Objective To explore the effects of Compound Cantharidin Capsules(复方斑蝥胶囊)combined with rotating vol-ume modulation technology on survival and serum X-ray repair cross complementing gene 1(XRCC1),X-ray repair cross com-plementing 3 messenger RNA(XRCC3 mRNA)in patients undergoing head and neck radiotherapy.Method Ninety-seven pa-tients with head and neck tumors admitted to the hospital from June 2019 to July 2021 were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods.The control group consisted of 48 patients who received ro-tational volume modulation technology combined with radiotherapy,while the combination group consisted of 49 patients who re-ceived Compound Cantharidin Capsule in addition to the treatment in the control group.The clinical efficacy,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,serum levels of XRCC1 and XRCC3 mRNA,survival time and adverse reactions of two groups were ob-served and compared.Result The objective response rate of the combination group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in disease control rate between the two groups(P＞0.05).The scores of self sweating,nausea and vomiting,fatigue,poor appetite,insomnia and dizziness in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The serum levels of XRCC1 and XRCC3 and the levels of XRCC1 and XRCC3 mRNA in the peripheral blood in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The progression free surviv-al and overall survival of the combination group were longer than those of the control group(P＜0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the combination group was 34.69％(17/49),significantly lower than that(72.92％,35/48)in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of Compound Cantharidin Capsule and rotational volume modulation technique can im-prove the objective response rate of tumors in patients undergoing head and neck radiotherapy,alleviate clinical symptoms,lower the levels of serum XRCC1 and XRCC3 mRNA and reduce adverse reactions.
