Alzheimer's disease dementia(ADD)is the most common type of dementia in clinical practice,which brings seri-ous burden to patients,their families and society.The results of phase Ⅲ clinical trials of drugs for Alzheimer's disease are excit-ing,but for the clinical treatment of ADD stage,there is still a lack of targeted and effective drugs in the world.Introducing the concept of traditional Chinese medicine into the clinical treatment of Alzheimer's disease may provide a new method for the clini-cal treatment of the disease.This paper summarized the source,flow and progress of TCM's understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of ADD,summarized Professor ZHAN Libin's academic thoughts and medication experience in the treatment of ADD over the years,and provided classic case sharing to provide guidance and reference for TCM treatment of ADD.
