Research Progress on Pharmacologic Effect and Clinical Application of Zhuyu Pill(茱萸丸)
Zhuyu Pill(茱萸丸)is derived from Taiping Shenghui Fang compiled by WANG Huaiyin and others in the Northern Song Dynasty.It is made of Huanglian(Coptidis Rhizoma)and Wuzhuyu(Euodiae Fructus),both of which aim at the complicated pathogenesis of the disturbance of Qi movement and the disorder of cold and heat.This article reviewed the literature from two aspects of pharmacological action and clinical application of Zhuyu Pill.This paper described the mechanism of Zhuyu Pill,such as anti-inflammation,reducing blood lipids,protecting gastric mucosa,antibacterial effect,antipyretic effect,enhancing heat tolerance,anticancer and detoxifying,and summarized its wide clinical application in lipid metabolic diseases,digestive dis-eases and chronic ulcers,and put forward some shortcomings and suggestions for improvement in experimental and clinical studies in order to provide relevant basis and support for further research and development and clinical application of Zhuyu Pill.
