Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases is a model of clinical diagnosis and treatment skills of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), laying the foundation for clinical diagnosis and treatment norms in various TCM clinical departments(including TCM oncology), and the prescriptions contained in it are honored as"classic prescriptions". Today, cancer has become a chronic and frequently occurring disease. The treatment of cancer with classic prescriptions has been widely carried out in clinical practice and has achieved good therapeutic effects, which has become an important component of "disperse mass, reinforce health and supplement deficiency"in TCM oncology. The author puts forward that cancer is a modern disease with a long history. Elderly cancer patients and those with comorbidities are the sensitive groups of prescriptions. The combination of disease and syndrome differentiation can improve the curative effects. Selecting"stones from other mountains"for"attack jade"will be conducive to develop new prospects for the treatment of cancer with classical prescriptions.
