Objective To explore the classification and characteristics of syndromes of esophageal cancer,and to provide reference for clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment.Methods Four diagnostic information of esophageal cancer patients in 10 provinces across the country was collected and database was built.The latent structure model was constructed by using Lantern 5.0 software,and the common syndromes of esophageal cancer were extracted by comprehensive clustering.Results A total of 2 027 patients with esophageal cancer were included,160 symptoms were used to construct a latent structure model,34 latent variables were obtained,and 6 common symptoms were obtained by comprehensive clustering.Conclusion The primary and secondary etiologies of esophageal cancer can be summarized that external pathogenic factors are the primary etiologies,and advanced age as well as emotional depression are the promoting causes.The common symptoms of esophageal cancer are liver and stomach disharmony,spleen and kidney deficiency,qi deficiency and yang debilitation,stagnation of phlegm and qi,blood stasis and phlegm stagnation,and yin deficiency with internal heat.
