Double Regression:A Study on the Path to Reshape Village Communities——A Case Study of Village B in Hubei Province
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again emphasized the priority of agricul-tural and rural development and the comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization. With the acceleration of urbanization, phenomena such as"empty nests"and"abandoned nests"have become increasingly common in rural areas.Villagers, who are the main subjects of village autonomy, are migrating away, leading to the disintegration of village communities that possess multiple attributes, including regional, economic, governance, and emotional aspects. In the context of the rural revitalization strategy, this study directly addresses the gradual disintegration of village communities in the modernization process. It proposes that the return of villagers as primary agents can drive the resurgence of village communities. This approach aims to maintain the vitality, vigor, and stability of villages, sustain har-monious urban-rural relationships, improve the three-governance system in rural areas, and enhance the role of rural areas as stabi-lizers and reservoirs of labor force for Chinese modernization development.
