Enterprise Chivalrous Spirit,Legitimacy and Reputation——From the Consumer's Perspective
In the new era,it is necessary to cultivate an enterprise spirit with the concept of Chinese civilization and a global per-spective.Given the significant value of the"chivalrous"spirit in Chinese traditional culture,this paper constructs the core indicators of the contemporary enterprise's chivalrous spirit from three dimensions:the great righteousness of the chivalrous,the public righteousness of the chivalrous,and the trustworthiness of the chivalrous.The great righteousness of the chivalrous advocates for patriotic and national revitalization spirit,which is the core embodiment of national righteousness;the public righteousness of the chivalrous emphasizes e-quality and benefiting others,which is similar to enterprise social responsibility in connotation;the trustworthiness of the chivalrous em-phasizes honest business operations,which is the basic logic of enterprise reputation.The chivalrous spirit of enterprises has typical characteristics of informal institutions,which helps enterprises to gain strong support from stakeholders,including consumers,under the guidance of the concept of common prosperity,and to obtain more legitimacy from the normative,moral,and cognitive levels,thereby enhancing enterprise reputation.This study provides theoretical and empirical evidence for management ideas based on Chinese indige-nous philosophy.
