Sodium lignosulfonate is derived from lignin waste, and is often used as a dispersant in the printing and dyeing industry, but they stain fibers. In this paper, the dyeing of wool by sodium lignosulfonate was studied, and the conditions of dyeing with sodium lignosulfonate were detailed studied from the aspects of temperature, time,pH value and concentration. And the color fastness, washing resistance, fabric strength,UV resistance and other properties of the dyed fabrics were also tested. The results show that sodium lignosulfonate can dye wool fabric into a dark color at pH 2.0~4.0,30.0%and 90 ℃.The K/S value of fabric after dyeing for 60 minutes reaches above 6.00.Moreover,the strength damage of dyed wool fabrics is low.The strength damage of fabrics dyed under different pH values are all less than 10%.It also has a good effect of anti-ultraviolet.
