Analysis on the Application of Traditional Brocade Fabric Elements in Garment Design
This paper aims at making a study of traditional tapestry brocade belonging to the intangible cultural heritage.By using the methods of modeling analysis and physical investigation,this study analyzes the modeling characteristics and the knitting characteristics of the brocade pattern,and explores the essence of traditional pattern brocade fabric and its application in modem fabric design.Through the application analysis by the design examples,this study examines the application of brocade fabric pattern in clothing design.It uses the modern design thinking to make the brocade fabric and pattern gradually become a popular high-grade clothing fabric element representing China and also recognized by the world.In addition,this paper uses the Chinese traditional brocade fabric elements in modern clothing design,so as to provide design materials for original designers.
