Flame Retardancy of Polyester Coated with Aluminum Diethylphosphonate
In this paper, waterborne polyurethane was modified by phosphate-containing flame retardant alu-minum diethylphosphonate, and the flame retardancy and drip resistance of polyester fabric were improved by coat-ing technology. The effects of the amount of flame retardants and the coating weight on the flame retardancy of the fabric were studied, and the burning behavior, flame retardancy, mechanical properties, water resistance and gloss of the flame retardancy coated fabric were studied. The results show that when the dosage of aluminum diethyl phosphinate is 2%and the coating is 100 g/m2,the damage length of the fabric is reduced to 12.9 cm,the limit oxygen index is increased to 28.6%,and there is no melting drop, reaching the Bl flame retardant standard, which can effectively improve the flame retardant and melting drop resistance of polyurethane coated polyester fabric.Cone calorimetric test shows that the maximum heat release rate and total smoke volume are reduced by 24.9%and 69.3%,respectively.Meanwhile,the flame retardant coated fabric maintained good mechanical properties and the hydrostatic pressure is 52.3 kPa.
