Preparation of Hydrophilic and Anti-felting Wool Fabric
There is a scale layer on the surface of wool fiber, which leads to poor hydrophilicity of the wool fabrics. The scale layer also makes wool prone to static electricity, pilling, felt shrinkage and other problems, which has a great impact on the wearing performance of wool fabric. In this paper, wool was grafted with polyethylene glycol disuccinate(PEGDSA).The wool fabric was first treated with LKZ-610 and hydrogen peroxide to expose more amino groups, and then the small molecule polymer PEGDSA was grafted onto the surface of the wool fabric by the EDC-NHS method. The results show that PEGDSA is successfully grafted onto the wool surface. After being grafted with 10%PEGDSA,the wool fabrics have good hydrophilicity, and the wicking height of wool fabrics can reach more than 100 mm,and the felting shrinkage of wool fabrics decreases rapidly to less than 10%.The anti-pilling properties of wool fabrics are also greatly improved to class 5 after 2 000 times.Meanwhile, the strength retention rate of fabrics can reach 80%.
