Study of Warp-knitted Spacer Fabric Reinforced Waste Wool Keratin Aerogel Composite
The preparation of organic aerogels using wool keratin generally suffers from structural instability and poor mechanical properties. To further improve the material properties,R-keratin was extracted from waste wool and prepared keratin aerogel by reduction C method, and a special three-dimensional structure of warp-knitted spacer fabric was introduced into the aerogel to develop a new warp-knitted spacer fabric-reinforced waste wool keratin aerogel composite, and the dissolution rate and extraction rate of waste wool as well as the density, the dissolution rate and extraction rate of waste wool as well as the density, mechanical and thermal insulation properties of the material were systematically tested and profiled. The results show that the dissolution rate of wool obtained by reduction C method is 89.4%,and the extraction rate of R-keratin is 72.6%.The density does not exceed 28.23 mg/cm3,which has the excellent characteristics of traditional aerogel with low density, and the in-situ composite of warp-knitted spacer fabric and the keratin aerogel improves the compression performance of the material significantly, which still has good thermal insulation properties.
